DESCRIPTION
Shell large, heavy, conical in shape and similar in appearance to the following species. However, it is readily recognized by two spiral bands of darker coloration on the body whorl. Spire low, teleconch sutu-ral ramps concave. Sculpture consists of fine axial and spiral grooves with coarse spiral ribs at base of the body whorl. Aperture white and widening anteriorly, outer lip smooth and white with sparse black dots. Color black with irregular white tents. This species was considered in the past a form of Conus marmoreus.
