Snipe's Bill Murex
DESCRIPTION
A solid, low-spired shell with a large body whorl and an extremely long, straght siphonal canal. Vertical ribs are prominent on the later whorls, where some develop into varices, three per whorl. The suture may be slightly channeled. Flared aperture, with its outer lip lightly toothed. Smooth varices have points which are crossed by strong spiral riblets. The siphonal canal is almost spineless. Creamy or pinkish, with brown blotches and dashes, barred on varices; apertural lips orange or pink.
