This Group. Represented in the shallow waters of tropical and temperate seas, includes some of the whorld's largest shells. Their aperture are capacious and siphonal canal long, while the whorls are smooth or spiny. Most species occur in brackish water, on mud or sand. Allanimals are carnivotous.
