Shell large, broadly conical in shape with a spiral banding at mid-body whorl. Spire low and concave with distinct sutures, shoulder angulate. Teleconch sutural ramps flat, spirally grooved and ornamented with broad and white radial markings. Aperture wide and bluish white, outer lip thin. Color brown with white spiral band. Average size: 70-100 mm. Large specimens in Vietnam reach 156 mm
