Shell large, conical in shape with coronate spire whorls and a violet-tinged base. Spire low with straight outline and deep sutures, shoulder angulate. Teleconch sutural ramps concave with radial streaks and yellow markings. Body whorl tapers rapidly towards the anterior end and it is smooth with some weak spiral ribs at base. Aperture uniformly wide, white and purple at the anterior end, outer lip smooth. Color uniformly yellow-brown. Juvenile specimens are much colorful with broad, brown-purple spiral band on a pale yellow background.
