Cone-shaped Top - Female
DESCRIPTION
This, the largest and heavies of the top shells, is almost an equilateral triangle in profile. In mature examples most whorls are smooth except for fine oblique striae; earlier whorls in medium-sized examples, and all whorls of juvenile examples, are ornamented with tubular nodules which are someimes fluted at the shallow suture. The columella has a ridge-like tooth. Pinkish white, with broad, deep red oblique stripes.
