Common Hairy Triton
DESCRIPTION
This thick, sturdy shell has a tall spire and a elongate body whorl measuring at least half the height of the shell. The short siphonal canal is slightly curved. There are usually two varices per whorl. The suture is very shellow. The inner lip has groups of small teeth, evenly distributed. Strong vertical ribs are srossed by strong spiral ribs on all whorls. White, with broad, dark brownbands; aperture reddish.
