Chocolate cowry
DESCRIPTION
A thick, heavy, rather humb-backed shell with an egg-shaped outline and flattened base. Margins splay out to form a surrounding flange with a strongly ridged edge. Teeth on each side of aperture are short; canals at each end of aperture are scarcely indented. Humped back brown, with small white spots of varying size; deep, chocolate-brown band covers margin, except for creamy white apove location of canals at both ends of aperture; teeth and adjacent area of base white.
