Chestnut Sand Snail
DESCRIPTION
A thick, solid, heavy shell, with a flattened spire of a few whorls and a large body whorl. The whorls are rounded except for a flat shelf below a shallow suture. A wide and deep umbilicus with fine vertical grooves is partly plugged by a riblike callus. The columella is straight and smooth. Creamy, with reddish brown blotches and spots; aperture violet or brown.
