Atlantic pearl Oyster

DESCRIPTION

Shell medium-sized and resembles Pinctada martensii (Dunker, 1873) but is less convex, larger in adult size and taller. The right valive is less convex than left valve, anterior auricle small. Outer surface strongly lamellose and yellow, inner surface iridescent with broad, yellowish non-nacereous margins.
